Remote Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Officer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations related to Klerksdorp . This role is vital in fostering a robust safety culture across the organization and ensuring compliance with all aviation safety regulations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems (SMS), conducting risk assessments, and promoting safety awareness among all personnel. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
• Promote a positive safety culture through proactive engagement and communication.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety management.
• Strong knowledge of SMS principles and best practices (e.g., ICAO Annex 19).
• Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
