Remote Aviation Safety Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote Aviation Safety Specialist to join their expanding global operations team. This position is vital for championing and enhancing the safety culture and performance across all aspects of the company's aviation activities. You will be responsible for developing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, analyzing safety data, and implementing initiatives to mitigate hazards and prevent incidents. As a fully remote role, you will collaborate closely with diverse teams worldwide, contributing to the highest standards of safety within the Gauteng aviation sector without geographical limitations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive aviation safety management systems (SMS) and associated procedures.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations to identify root causes and trends.
• Analyze safety data (e.g., incident reports, audit findings) to develop proactive safety improvement strategies.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Promote a positive safety culture through communication, engagement, and visible leadership commitment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations and standards (e.g., ICAO, SACAA).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in aviation safety management, preferably with an airline or MRO.
• In-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS), risk management principles, and accident/incident investigation techniques.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a remote or global team environment.
