Position C2627-12 French Generalist – Art Smith Aviation Academy This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position commencing at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. Art Smith Aviation Academy is located on the 4 Wing Air Force Base in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 290 students in Kindergarten to Grade 9.

The Academy provides a K-to-9 program in English and a K-to-6 French Immersion program to all families in the Cold Lake area. The school focuses on the specialized needs of military dependents while supporting students of the area surrounding 4 Wing Cold Lake.

Responsibilities • Ensure effective planning, instruction, and assessment for students • Develop and nurture a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment • Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes outlined in the Alberta Curriculum • Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population • Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community • Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the school community Qualifications • Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate • Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset • Ability to achieve Alberta Education’s Teaching Quality Standards • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement Successful applicant will be required to conduct a French proficiency test.
